When we began designing our kitchen I knew I wanted a large farmhouse sink. One with more than enough room for every task and a clean, modern look. I am in love with our fireclay farmhouse sink by Vintage Tub and Bath. The 33" sink is the perfect size to make a statement in our kitchen. We went with the matte dark gray and love how it perfectly compliments the Iron Ore by Sherwin Williams accent and trim paint color throughout our home. We matched the sink with a matte black faucet from Moluf's and drawer pulls from Top Knobs. I love the stark contrast of our bright white cabinets and white marble countertops from Pacific Shores Stones.
Like so many of my clients, the kitchen is the central part of our home. We spend lots of time gathered around the kitchen island, at the dining table and cooking in the kitchen. I wanted the space to feel airy and open with modern touches. When looking at the before and after photos of the space I can hardly believe it once was a dark, closed in space.
We chose to keep some of the cabinetry for storage but also decided to remove some cabinets and put in custom open shelving. I love styling these shelves with white and black dinnerware to compliment the elements in the kitchen. The sink truly anchors the room and the high-quality fireclay material creates a grounded feel in the space.
The 33 inch farmhouse sink has a plain front fireclay with reversible apron. We chose the plain front for a finished look. If you are in search of a sink with a fluted apron this one will do the trick!
The sink pairs well with the materials chosen for the kitchen including our flat black Square Bar Pulls from Top Knobs. We used both 6 5/16 inch pulls and larger, 8 13/16 inch pulls. The sleek pulls fit into the modern flair of the kitchen.
