Tips + Tricks: Christmas Tree Styling

Happy December! If you haven't put your tree up. Now is a perfect time. It can be a challenge knowing where to begin when decorating a Christmas tree. I am so excited to share my Christmas tree styling tips and tricks!

This year I finally talked Hugh into getting a faux tree rather than a real Christmas tree. I love how full a faux tree looks and bonus- the tree is prelit.

CHOOSE A FILLER

Whether you have a live or faux tree - choosing a fun filler is a must! It is such an easy way to disguise any gaps in your tree. Last year I incorporated faux palms. This year I went with faux pampas grass. I distributed the stems throughout the tree and bunched a couple up at the top for a unique topper. I love how faux greenery requires zero maintenance but adds a fun, playful touch.

ORNAMENTS

Next is ornaments. First, you have to decide on a color palette. This year I knew I wanted to mix black, gold, and a pretty champagne color. When I hang ornaments I'll mix up the shapes, sizes, and textures. Using glass and glitter ornaments is an easy way to add dimension, while giving your tree a festive sparkle.

UNDER THE TREE

Lastly, it is about what is underneath your tree. Besides presents, of course! Using a pretty tree skirt elevates the entire tree. Try to use a tree skirt that maintains your color palette. This will tie the whole look together!

I hope this helps and inspires your Christmas tree vision for this year! Happy holidays y'all.

xx, Megan
