It is true what they say, nothing updates a home more than kitchens and bathrooms! For the Clearview project we focused on completely renovating the master and hall bathroom. This beautiful home is right on the water with beautiful views of the lowcountry marsh. We wanted to give this family bright, airy and modern bathrooms with tons of light and luxury to get ready for the day and fully relax in the evenings.
When working with a new client we first complete a walkthrough of the space we plan to work with gathering measurements and photos. Both of the Clearview project bathrooms were in need of a serious update and made the home feel dated. We loved giving these spaces the Megan Molten look and a new modern feel!
First up is the Master Bathroom. We create presentation boards to help our clients visualize how all the elements will work together in the completed space. We also showcase layouts to give a better understanding for both the client and the contractor. Our team chooses everything from the paint color to the cabinetry to the plumbing, lighting, tile, window treatments and decorative accessories. Working with a designer to update spaces from the very beginning will help you to determine the best selections for the completed look you desire.
The master bathroom had three main ideas- a tub, a shower and cabinetry. We completely gutted the existing sections and restructured the layout of the space. We updated the tile floor to a modern herringbone option from Garden State Tile and gave the walls a fresh coat of Benjamin Moore, Super White paint. Check out the before and after photos below to be completely blown away by the transformation!
We added a freestanding tub (SO dreamy!) and a new light fixture that screams luxury! I love that our clients can come home and soak in the gorgeous new tub with a beautiful view of their property.
We added in all new cabinetry and painted it Balboa Mist by Benjamin Moore to compliment the tile floor and contrast the bright white walls. With tons of counter-space and drawers, the family is sure to never run out of space. A important part of a master bathroom is lighting. We added in large mirrors on all four walls with the brightest sconces we could find! You could get ready for the Oscars in this bathroom!
Lastly, we created a shower dreams are made of! With four shower heads, a full bench and a little window for natural light this shower is perfection! We chose a grey marbled tile for the walls with a white hex flooring. Pro Tip: Add the controls closer to the door so you do not have to get wet while warming up the water!
Next up is the Hall Bathroom! This bathroom was equally in need of an update. We created presentation boards for this space as well to showcase the layout and selections together.
The before and after photos of this bathroom prove that a small space can be better utilized with some proper design and planning. Before the bathroom had a single sink with no storage. Our solution was to add a freestanding vanity with double sinks and a shelf below to hold baskets for extra storage use.
Gutting this bathroom and updating to bright white walls with a large white counter top and mirror opened up the space. We decided to add a pop of fun with the grey and white patterned tile flooring. The shower also got a full makeover with large white rectangular tiles and white marbled hex tile flooring.
When adding in the details we are sure to use items that work both for style and functionality. We use baskets, trays, boxes and jars. My favorite items from the shop we incorporated into this project are the Acrylic and Quartz Boxes perfect for holding jewelry, hair clips and other miscellaneous items as well as the White Wood Mirrored Trays which are so chic and perfect for styling items on. The Megan Molten Candle comes in a green tea and lemon grass scent perfect for bathrooms!
I also love to add in some faux greenery for an always styled look!
