Country Club II Playroom

I love when clients we have previously worked with call us in to do another space in their home. Some of our projects include the entire home while others evolve over time. Check out my previous blog to see the Country Club II project completed spaces: dining room, master bedroom and nursery.

This growing family decided it was time to take their office space and turn it into a playroom! They were in need of a space that could house games, artwork and all things toy related while still being a beautiful part of their home. We love designing spaces for little ones that are functional and not too child like. We used soft colors, durable fabrics and LOTS of storage options to give this family a playroom that works for everyone.

When working with our clients we provide presentation boards which break down all of the selections and show how they will work together in the space. We work especially hard to pick items that work with the type of room we are creating while also appeal to the families personal style. My favorite item we incorporated into the design is this wool woven decorative wall hanging by local artist, Sunwoven! Our design work does not begin and end with picking furniture and lighting selections and decorative accessories. For this project we decided storage was a huge need. We added in built ins as well as a custom storage bench and french doors.

Check out the before and after photos below to see the transformation from masculine office to pretty playroom!

The playroom is a space for the children to enjoy and play with toys and games. We kept their play kitchen and painted it to match the new built ins and bench! We also used a wire rod with clips to display the children's artwork in the room!

These amazing animal heads are available on our shop! We just love how they are crafted from natural rattan and are such a stunning piece that is also playful and fun for the kids!

One of the most important functions of the playroom is storage. Since children tend to have lots and lots of toys and games we thought of many creative ways to stow them away while not in use. We added in the built ins with cabinetry below to hide away extra items. We also added a custom bench which opens up to provide the family with additional storage. We also used our favorite White Wash Storage Coffee Table from the shop which slides open for ample storage. Lastly, we incorporated the Llama Basket which is handwoven and the absolute cutest place to house toys!

We styled the shelves with books, stuffed animals and toys for easy access. We also added in artwork, woven and wooden frames for texture and a fun Unicorn Planter!

I hope you loved learning about the design process behind the Country Club II playroom! We love working on different types of spaces and finding the perfect solutions for our clients to enjoy.
