Mitzi x Megan Molten Lighting Collection

Having the opportunity to design the Megan Molten x Mitzi lighting collection was a dream come true! When I started to design the collection. It was important to me to provide consumers that desire a Modern Coastal design aesthetic with a go-to, affordable lighting option. I am so excited to share with y'all the entire process. From inspiration to sketches to seeing it all come to life.

Inspiration

The first thing I did in beginning my journey in creating the Megan Molten x Mitzi lighting collection was gathered inspiration from photos, and past design projects. My goal for each fixture was to reflect my brand aesthetic; light, bright, airy modern coastal.

Sketches

Drawing the initial sketches of my lighting, I thought about each piece keeping a designer's perspective in mind. What would I use in my design projects to elevate a space? But also allow consumers worldwide to purchase and bring the Megan Molten look into their homes. Materials I chose and incorporated into the collection are seen consistently in the spaces I've designed. They are my favorite go-to materials-glass, white plaster, terrazzo, shells, and woven textures to give you that Modern Coastal vibe. Capturing the laid-back and happy feelings you experience on the seaside to any home, no matter where you live.

Lighting Families

Each fixture in this collection refreshes any space(s) bringing in a bright, airy, and calming feel.

The Maisie

The feminine and fun fixture! I am using the flush mounts to line my hallway at home and the lamp in Marion's room on her dresser. I love that the flush mount doubles as a pendant when using a longer down rod. This family looks very vintage to me. The Maisie can be utilized in a traditional or modern space. I love when a single piece can be incorporated into many different design aesthetics.

The Margaret

I have been drawn to terrazzo lately. The natural material and little texture and color it provides are my favorite. This family feels very modern and organic. The Margaret fixtures could be styled in many spaces. The sconces would be fun in a powder bath on either side of a mirror. The table lamp is perfect for bedside lamps or an entry console.

The Mariana

This lighting family is the epitome of the Modern Coastal style. The white shades and rattan base bring all the coastal vibes in. I love to style the chandelier in a living room setting and the sconces in a bedroom or hallway. We have these chandeliers hung throughout the studio!

The Melisa

The Melisa is a showstopper! I love the look of Capiz shells on a light fixture but pictured these to have a more modern shape. This piece would be stunning in an entry, over a dining table, or even above a bathtub. It is so versatile and brings that little bit of coastal luxury to any space.

The Mica

The Mica mixes modern and coastal design elements. The white and brass in a cone shape make it super Modern. Paired with the woven texture is what gives it that coastal feel. I love the sconce for a bathroom or the pendants for over a kitchen island.

The Mimi

My favorite! The Mimi is named after my grandmother who was fabulous. I wanted this fixture to make a statement and give that "wow!" factor to any space. I just hung this piece over my dining table-it is a stunner! The champagne glass balls are what make it so unique. Add this fixture to any space that needs a little something extra.

The Minnie

I wanted to create a fixture that would add a pop of color to a space. The geometric shapes make these so fun and unique. The sizes of the lamps are perfect for a small console table or even nightstands.
