Park West Project

I love mixing in a modern vibe to our typical coastal casual feel. The Park West project perfectly combines modern styles such as black fixtures and neutral tones with our classic coastal signature style incorporating woven materials, gold accents and warm woods. We worked on the entryway, dining room, living room, kitchen and laundry room to complete this project.

It is important for clients who plan on extensive remodeling or a new build to bring us in right away. When we are involved early on we can assist in making important selections such as plumbing fixtures, lighting, tile work, cabinetry, counter tops, paint color and more. It is much more difficult and costly for owners who decide later that the tile they originally chose now does not fit the look of the rest of the house. We work directly with homeowners and their contractors to assist in making selections that we know will seamlessly go with everything down to the decorative accessories.

We create presentation boards to help our clients visualize what the space will look like with all of the selections together. This visual representation can help when choosing everything from paint to pillows!

In our client presentations we walk them through their presentation boards also showing inspiration photos and how we see the room coming together. It is an important time for clients to be able to express what they do and do not like. We then make adjustments and place orders.

I love taking a look back at before and after photos. At our initial walk through, we could see the incredible potential of the Park West home. The home needed some fresh white paint, a new kitchen and built ins to bring it back to life. Check out the amazing transformation of the kitchen, dining room, entryway and living room below:

The kitchen was in need of a total transformation. We replaced the vinyl tile flooring with hardwoods, updated the cabinetry and countertops, replaced the lighting and added in a new island. Creating an island separate from the countertops modernized the space and made the kitchen feel more open and inviting.

The dining room also received a major update. We removed the dated chair rail moulding, replaced the flooring and painted the room a bright white. Adding in new draperies, a new chandelier, updated artwork and furnishings brought the room together.

We added in details to the dining room such as a fun bar cart stocked with items such as decanters, books and glassware. We also completed the dining room table with candle holders and a twisted wooden branch for a casual yet elegant feel.

The living room has amazing natural light from the huge doors and windows. Painting the room white blended the large windows and doors into the wall making it look much more modern and purposeful. We added an incredible sectional for the family to enjoy with lots of pillows for added contrast and comfort.

The living room has a fireplace which needed to be framed in with custom built ins. We love adding built ins to a living space to provide storage and showcase decorative items bringing an extra layer of customization and warmth to a space.

We used items from the shop to style both the coffee table and shelving in the living room. We use a variety of boxes, frames, bowls, candle holders and decorative objects for a finished look.

Lastly, we updated the entry way. The entryway if often the first impression of your home and will not go unnoticed. We added in a fun light fixture as well as an entryway rug. We also updated the sideboard and added a circle mirror, lamp and decorative accents. The home immediately feels more inviting and modern with these simple updates to the entryway.

It is so rewarding working on a project such as the Park West project. We love to incorporate our client's personal style into the overall look of the home while keeping the signature Megan Molten style. When given the opportunity to work on the project from the start, we can help clients select the finishes we know will look best with the final pieces of the design.
